The Explorer 300 Plus in brief

The Explorer 300 Plus holds the third-most watt-hours per pound of the 14 stations under 300 Wh, at 34.8 Wh/lb, but Jackery no longer sells it new in its own US store. The nearest current model is the Explorer 300 v2. It stores 288 Wh in LFP cells, weighs 8.27 lb, and puts out 300 W AC with 600 W of surge. Its wall charge takes 1 h, and solar at the full 100 W input takes 3.8 h. The warranty was 5 years, longer than the 3 years on the 300 v2. A laptop gets 2.5 h to 7 h, a Wi-Fi router 5.4 h to 28 h, and a 55 inch LED TV 2.4 h to 3.4 h. Anything above 300 W, such as a 1,500 W microwave, is past its output.

How long the Explorer 300 Plus runs things

Times use about 85% of the rated capacity, the part left after inverter and battery losses. A refrigerator at 104 W runs 2.7 h to 7 h, and a chest freezer at 192 W runs 6.2 h to 11 h. Their 1,305 W and 1,200 W startup draws are beyond what this unit covers.

Work out your own mix of loads. A red bar means it draws more than the 300 W this station can supply.

Solar panels for the Explorer 300 Plus

Solar goes in through its USB-C port, at 12 to 27 V and up to 100 W. Panels with barrel plugs need Jackery's DC8020-to-USB-C adapter, which settles the voltage with the station, so a plain panel voltage check does not apply. Confirm your panel on Jackery's list.

Who the Explorer 300 Plus suits

It suits someone buying used or from remaining stock who wants the 5-year warranty and a USB-C solar port. Panels reach that port through a DC8020 to USB-C adapter, up to 100 W. For a new purchase, the Explorer 300 v2 is rated for 4,000 cycles to 70%, weighs 8.16 lb and has a DC8020 solar port. The Anker SOLIX C300 offers a 5-year warranty and a 10 ms switchover, and works down to -4 F, where the 300 Plus is rated to 14 F.

FAQ

Is the Jackery Explorer 300 Plus still sold?

Jackery no longer sells it new in its own US store. The Explorer 300 v2 is the newer model with the same 288 Wh capacity.

How long does the Explorer 300 Plus take to recharge?

It fills from the wall in 1 h. Solar at the full 100 W input takes 3.8 h.

How do solar panels connect to it?

Through its USB-C port, using a DC8020 to USB-C adapter, at up to 100 W. Confirm your panel on Jackery's list.

Can it power a space heater?

No. A space heater draws 1,575 W while the 300 Plus outputs 300 W, so it will not run one.
