Why not divide watt-hours by watts?
Inverters and batteries lose energy. This calculator uses 85% of the rated capacity, a common planning figure, so a 1,000 Wh station is treated as about 850 Wh.
Why does a fridge last longer than its watts suggest?
A refrigerator compressor cycles on and off. The calculator uses published yearly energy use, or the share of time it runs, where one exists.
What does the startup warning mean?
Motors pull far more power for a moment when they start. If that moment is more than the station's surge figure, the station can shut off even with plenty of charge left.
