The AC50P in brief

Where the AC50B holds 448 Wh in 16.53 lb, the AC50P holds 504 Wh in 15.12 lb, which works out to 33.3 Wh per pound. Both put out 700 W, the highest of the 4 stations in the 300 to 700 Wh class. At that output the AC50P runs a laptop for 4.5 h to 12 h, a refrigerator for 4.7 h to 12 h and a chest freezer for 11 h to 19 h. BLUETTI describes third-party panels as 12 V to 60 V open-circuit with MC4 connectors, while the input itself is 12 V to 28 V at 200 W, so panel voltage deserves a close look. Wall charging at 600 W takes 1.3 h, and solar takes 3.4 h at full input.

How long the AC50P runs things

Times use about 85% of the rated capacity, the part left after inverter and battery losses. The coffee maker's 600 W start is covered, but its 1,500 W running draw is not. The 220 W electric blanket works for 1.9 h to 3.9 h, and the router for 9.5 h to 49 h.

Work out your own mix of loads. A red bar means it draws more than the 700 W this station can supply.

Solar panels for the AC50P

Its XT60 port takes 12 to 28 V, up to 8.5 A and 200 W. A panel's voltage rises in the cold, so the marks below show each one at 14 F, and a pass here keeps 10% of headroom under the maximum.

Who the AC50P suits

Pick it for a freezer, a laptop and a router, with a -4 F to 104 F working range and a 5-year warranty. The EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max is the choice if weight or wall speed rules. It is 13.4 lb, charges at 660 W in 1 h and takes 220 W of solar up to 50 V, though its AC output is 500 W. The Jackery Explorer 600 v2 offers 640 Wh and 6,000 cycles at 14.11 lb, also at 500 W.

FAQ

Is the BLUETTI AC50P better than the AC50B?

It stores more and weighs less: 504 Wh in 15.12 lb against 448 Wh in 16.53 lb. Both give 700 W of AC, and the AC50P wall charges at 600 W against 580 W.

Can the AC50P run a microwave?

No. A 1,500 W microwave is above the 700 W output, so running power is listed as not supported.

Which solar panels fit the AC50P?

With a 12 V to 28 V input, the Jackery SolarSaga 200 at 22 V open-circuit stays inside in the 14 F check, one panel, with a DC8020 to XT60 adapter. BLUETTI's PV200 at 24.6 V runs close to that 28 V limit in the same check, and its higher-voltage panels go past it.

How long does the AC50P take to recharge?

From the wall, 600 W takes 1.3 h. On solar, 3.4 h is the figure at the full 200 W input.
